Chi desiderasse informazioni specifiche sull’attività del Network, potrà contattare Giorgio Sandrini ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) o Claudio Corradini ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).

Il testo delle proposte sarà disponibile sul sito della SIRN immediatamente dopo il congresso di Vienna.

Goals of ENENR

The following goals were agreed after discussion:

  • to compare in the European countries, post graduate training and education, concerning the field of neurorehabilitation
  • to compare the different pathways for education (university, hospital, schools, etc…)
  •  to define core curriculum for each activity
  • to identify the limits to the mobility from a country to another one
  •  to propone guidelines for an harmonisation of curriculum and education in Europe
  •  to present an application for a EC project of harmonisation in education
  •  to partecipate to other projects in this field (i.e. SMART project or other)
  • to compare education and its impact on health system
  • to extend the activity to other countries of EC (Eastern Europe, in particular)
  •  to create the basis for extending the activity to other countries out of EC (WFNR)

Methodology

2a) Name of the group

It was agreed to maintain the name proposed:

European Network for Education in Neurorehabilitation (ENENR)

The same membership will be active in the WFNR SIG on Neurorehabilitation curriculum and standards for Neurorehabilitation training (European group) (at least in this first phase).

2b) Societies/Countries

The following societies/countries are member of the network:

  • Austria
  • France
  • Germany
  • Holland
  • Italy
  • Spain
  • Switzerland

The following other societies/countries will be invited to participate to the activity of the ENENR:

Denmark, Hungary, Greek, Poland, Romania

(Action: Binder).

Representative for France need a confirmation(action:Sandrini,Binder)

2c) Member for each Society/Country

It was proposed as general rule to have max two representatives for each country.

A feedback by each Society is asked.

(Action: all the members)

Other members of each societies could be involved in the activity of the network on specific task.

Only MD expert in Neurorehabilitation will be members of the network

2d) Type of activity

The ENENR will produce an EBM document to be published at the end of activity.

The results will be presented in Congresses (see next points).

Further activities could be defined during the next meetings and they could include the organization of an European Summer School, Board of qualification and

International Master in Neurorehabilitation.

(Action: all the members)

2e) Organization of activities

In the first step all the members will work together during the ENENR activities. As second step specific tasks could be defined and specific working group involving other experts could be proposed.

Binder will be chairman of ENENR group and Sandrini will be co-chairman; about the WFNR SIG Binder will be the Chair and Sandrini will be the Vice-chair for Europe.

2f) Planning of activities, timing and deadlines

2009 next ENENR meetings: - Bozen 24th August

- Florence (during EFNS congress, 12th or other date) - Linz (15th October)(to be confirmed)

2010: Vienne (during WFNR congress): meeting and activity to be defined

2011: Bozen: An international congress, organized by the Austrian, German, Italian and Swiss Societies of Neurorehabilitation, will include a specific topic on education and ENENR activity.

3)  A core curriculum in neurorehabilitation

To define a common curriculum in Neurorehabilitation will represent the most important task of the ENENR.

A common framework will be reached comparing the proposals coming from different societies.

It will concern only postgraduate activity.

It will include theoretical acknowledgements, learning, skill and practical activities.

Report from literature and other non EC countries could be evaluated.

A first presentation of the proposals available (A, D, I) will be done in the next meeting in Bozen.

Each Society will present the preliminary proposals.

(Action: one representative for each Society; for Italy: Corradini)

4) EC harmonization projects

Sandrini inform the members about the possibility to present an application to EC (e-health program) in order to financially support ENENR activity.

Sandrini will send a first proposal to National contact point by 10th July.

If confirmed, each representative of the Society will send the expression of interest to national contact point in Brussels .

During the next meeting in Bozen, Sandrini will give information about the Education harmonization projects

5) Graduate in Medicine

It will be not included in the ENENR activity.

6) The professionals in neurorehabilitation

- education

- training

- the role in the team and healthcare

It will be not included in the ENENR activity.

At the end of the activity concerning the postgraduate, the ENENR could be decide if to extend its activity to the professional involving their representatives.
